VALE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Vale        Best Guess for Breed:  Shepherd and retriever mix  Best Guess for Age:   2 years as of July 2026        SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:   35 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   Puerto Rico shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here!   Special adoption considerations:   Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure they can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.Vale is Looking For: Her forever home! Vale is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. She is in her prime as a young dog and hasn't seen enough of the world - she's eager to get her own humans for sniffy walks and romps in parks and all the adventures her family can dream up.
