Hatch Date: 1999 Annie is a Lilac-Crowned Amazon, she has been DNA sexed female. She has lived with the same guardian most of her life, but her very doting mother recently passed away, which is how she ended up with our rescue. Annie is used to living in the same room as other birds, but she isn't particularly open to sharing perch space with them, so she could do well in a home with other birds or without. She is not overtly aggressive towards others. She does make noises back and forth with the other birds in her foster home. Annie is a bit shy, but enjoys sharing food and spending time with the family. She is a great alarm system, as she very loudly signals when anyone in the family gets home or walks into the room with her until she figures out who it is. She is not suited for apartment or condo dwelling. She mimics a lot of noises, most comically, laughter. She says a few words, and when her favorite family member walks in, she repeats "hello" over and over in excitement. Annie is on a healthy diet of pellets and chop. Her treat food is almonds, and while her foster family is working with her on touch/target training, she is still afraid of the dowel. She steps up, and in the few months she's been in her foster home, she is warming up to both adults in the house, but has a clear preference for the man. Annie enjoys taking showers from a spray bottle. Annie has been disease tested for PBFD and Chlamydia. &n
