Meet Canela – Your New Best Friend!

Hi there! My name is Canela, and I'm a lovable French Mastiff with a big heart and an even bigger love for cuddles (even though I'm a big girl at ~120 lbs!). I was rescued from DAS in January 2020, and my current family believes I’m about 7–8 years old—but don’t let that fool you. I’m young at heart and still full of life!

I adore being around people and thrive on companionship. Whether it’s going for a walk, lounging around the house, or joining on car rides (my favorite!), I’m just happiest when I’m with my family. I'm not a fan of hot summer days, though—give me a cool floor and a fan, and I'm golden.

I’m potty trained and am trusted with free roam of the house. I know a few basic commands—okay, mostly just “sit,” but I do it well! I’m spayed, so no puppies in my future, and I get along great with kids, seniors, other dogs, and even cats. I’m just that friendly.

Some of my favorite things include:
Soft jerky treats (beef, please!)
PetSmart visits
Riding in the car
Dining at dog-friendly restaurants
Cuddling on the couch

Sadly, my dad is no longer able to care for me due to his health issues, and with a heavy heart, he’s looking for a loving new home where I’ll be just as spoiled and cherished. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and well-behaved companion, I’d love to meet you.
