Birthday: July 2, 2022 Thomas had lived in a rough environment. It took him a bit to socialize once he was brought to the rescue, but now he has been making strides! He's doing great now, and he can't wait to find his forever home!  This guy isn't as rough and tough as you would expect from a tomcat. In fact, he's quite the opposite! He's a bit timid, but that all wears off once he gets to know his human! Then he's as comfortable being next to you as a comfy pillow! He enjoys whenever someone gives him pets and strokes.  You know you've struck gold whenever he decides he wants to share the bed or sofa with you! Thomas had contracted FIV+ at some point in his life, and as such, his immune system is vulnerable to many infections.  However, just because he has the condition doesn't mean he can't have a long and happy life! No, FIV+ cannot be transferred to humans.  It can affect other cats, but the main mode of transmission is through bite wounds from an infected cat. Sharing water bowls or mutual grooming isn't an efficient route of spreading the virus, so any casual, non-aggressive contact is fine. With that said, don't let it deter you from adopting this fella! He's as sweet as they come.  He may not be fond about being picked up, but the worst he will do is fuss about it as if he were saying, "Hey! Put me down!"
