About Mellow

Mellow truly lives up to his name, from car rides to playtime, he always has a sweet and calm demeanor. He is very smart and a little clingy. He loves people and frequently turns on his back for belly rubs. Just be sure not to rub his belly for more than a couple seconds, he's sensitive about it sometimes. Sadly, we lost Dynamite (his brother) to kidney failure. It came on very sudden and despite getting him to Wilson's Veterinary Hospital quickly, he was unable to recover and lost the battle. We are hopeful that Mellow will be adopted to an awesome family who can help to soothe his broken heart! Mellow is 12 years old and still loves to play with toys but won't exhaust you like a kitten would. 20 minutes a day of play is more than enough for him. He also loves being brushed - he purrs and tumbles onto his back to give you better space to brush him. His beautiful, all orange coat and green eyes simply add to his appeal. He will come to greet you when you come home. Mellow is a very goofy and amusing cat as you can see in his videos. He is especially treat motivated. His foster mom was able to teach him to jump on the cat tree with treats! You will likely be able to train him as he's quite smart for a cat. He is not fooled by the laser pointer, unlike his brother! He was bonded with his brother Dynamite and and will miss him, so he may need help to fill the void left by his brother's passing.
